EQS – Equation Solver collects no personal data. It sends nothing from your computer to the publisher or to anyone else.
Your models, tables, plots and settings stay on your Mac, in the files and folders that you choose. EQS has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. The Mac App Store version of EQS does not connect to the internet.
The version of EQS that you download from fast-sheet.com (Mac and Windows) reads one small file,
https://fast-sheet.com/eqs/version.json, at the start (at most once a day) and when you choose Help →
Check for Updates…. The file gives the number of the newest version. EQS asks for it with a plain request and
sends no data about you, your computer or your models. When a newer version is available, EQS shows a notice with
a button that opens the download page in your browser; it does not download or install anything by itself. You can
turn the check at the start off in View → Preferences → Options. fast-sheet.com is hosted by Cloudflare, which may
keep standard technical logs (for example IP addresses) for security. The Mac App Store version does not do this
check: Apple brings its updates.
The free trial and the purchase of EQS go through Apple's App Store. Apple handles the payment. The publisher gets no payment card data and no personal data from it. Apple's privacy policy applies to the purchase: apple.com/legal/privacy.
A licence file (for example from your university) is a text file that EQS checks on your Mac. EQS does not send it anywhere.
